‘I forgive and wish Asiedu Nketiah well as he exits NDC headquarters’ – Koku Anyidoho

According to report by Ghanaweb on Friday 23, 2026, in a remarkable display of reconciliation, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidho, has extended his heartfelt congratulations (“Ayekoo”) and best wishes to his former boss, Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu-Nketiah, as Asiedu Nketiah concludes an influential 21 year tenure at the party’s headquarters.

Taking to his Twitter page on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Anyidho expressed a forgiving and reflective stance towards their past political rivalries. Addressing Asiedu Nketiah, Anyidho publicly forgave him for past actions that he felt were aimed at dismantling his political career, stating that he has completely moved on and genuinely wishes his former boss well in his future endeavors.

Clarifying the origins of their past friction, Anyidho explained that during their years working side by side, he held no personal animosity toward Asiedu-Nketiah. He noted that his decision to contest against Asiedu-Nketiah for the General Secretary position in 2018 was solely based on an explicit assurance that Asiedu-Nketiah would not seek re-election at that time.

Reflecting on political history, Anyidho recounted Asiedu-Nketiah’s popularly known as “General Mosquito”rise to leadership, recalling the immense support he gathered during the 2005 Koforidua Congress when he assumed the mantle from then-embattled General Secretary Dr. Nii Armah Josiah Aryeh.

Anyidho also highlighted a recent chance encounter two months ago at the Prempeh II International Airport in Kumasi, where the two political figures shared a warm interaction, shook hands, and shared lighthearted moments. Emphasizing unity, Anyidho expressed confidence that more unites them than divides them, choosing to focus on positivity moving forward and concluding prayerfully, “We live by God’s grace to see the future unfold.”
