Guinness Nigeria Declares N7 Interim Dividend, Sets November 13 Payment Date

Guinness Nigeria Plc has declared an interim dividend of N7.00 per ordinary share for the period ended September 30, 2026, following an improvement in its financial performance.

The brewer disclosed the dividend in a corporate actions announcement dated October 21, 2026, and signed by Company Secretary Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh.

According to the company, the dividend will be paid to shareholders whose names appear on its register at the close of business on Friday, October 30, 2026, subject to applicable withholding tax and approval.

Payment is scheduled for November 13, 2026, with eligible shareholders expected to receive their dividends electronically through their registered bank accounts.

Based on Guinness Nigeria’s approximately 2.19 billion issued ordinary shares, the proposed dividend represents an estimated total payout of N15.33 billion.

The announcement follows the company’s unaudited financial results for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, which showed a 53.1% increase in profit after tax to N40.69 billion from N26.59 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.

Revenue increased by 20.4% to N403.33 billion from N335.07 billion, while profit before tax rose to N61.65 billion from N39.69 billion.

The improved earnings provide financial context for the dividend announcement, which offers shareholders an opportunity to receive returns from the company’s performance.

Guinness Nigeria stated that its shareholders’ register would be closed from November 2, 2026, following the October 30 qualification date.

Shareholders who have not completed their e-dividend registration have been advised to obtain and submit the required mandate forms to Veritas Registrars Limited or their respective banks.

The company also encouraged shareholders with outstanding dividend warrants or unclaimed share certificates to contact its registrar to resolve their records and facilitate payment.

The proposed interim dividend comes as Guinness Nigeria strengthens its financial position, with shareholders’ equity increasing to N64.30 billion as of September 30, 2026, from N43.32 billion at the end of December 2025.

Retained earnings also improved to N15.76 billion from a deficit of N5.22 billion over the same period.

The November 13 payment will be made to qualifying shareholders who have completed the necessary registration requirements, subject to the conditions outlined in the company’s corporate actions announcement.
