Ghanaian Actor Seth Kwame Dzokoto Dies After Collapsing During Live Radio Show

According to reports, he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died after reportedly collapsing during a live radio programme.

Dzokoto is said to have collapsed in the early hours of Thursday, 22 October 2026, while participating as a panellist on the morning show of Owass FM/Radio in Tarkwa, in Ghana’s Western Region.

According to reports, he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to GBC Ghana, the news was confirmed by the Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kirk Mensah, who said: “Our comrade Kwame Dzokoto of the Efiewura and Edziban fame on a panel discussion on Owass Radio in Tarkwa collapsed and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.”

A livestream of the programme on Owass FM’s Facebook page appeared to capture the final moments before the incident. In the latter part of the broadcast, Dzokoto seemed to be struggling to breathe and was seen handing a bottle of water to another guest. Moments later, the camera became unstable and the livestream was abruptly cut off.

Dzokoto rose to national prominence through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura.

He was also widely recognised as the host of TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban, which showcased Ghanaian cuisine and culture. Over the years, he featured in productions such as Osumesi and worked as a radio presenter with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.

Beyond his entertainment career, Dzokoto was actively involved in politics. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the platform of the NDC during the 2016 general elections.

Just weeks before his death, in September 2026, Dzokoto publicly debunked rumours that he had died amid concerns over his health.

Speaking on B.E. TV, he stated, “I’m not dead,” explaining that he had been battling high blood pressure and diabetes and had undergone surgery outside Ghana with support from businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

Dzokoto was 51 years old at the time of his death.

Further details, including official statements from his family and information regarding funeral arrangements, have yet to be announced.
