“I’m Going to Sue You Stop Spreading Lies About Me” —Fantana on NPP Communicator Over Ablakwa Claims

According to a Post by Ghbase on Facebook Official account on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Ghanaian musician Fantana has threatened to take legal action against New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication team member Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah following claims linking her to alleged misuse of public funds by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The controversy began during a discussion on Onua FM, where Gyewu-Appiah alleged that the minister had diverted money meant to support the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa and allegedly spent it on the musician.

During the broadcast, the NPP communicator claimed that Fantana was romantically involved with Ablakwa and had benefited from the money he accused the minister of taking from the state.

“What pains me is that he has given all the money he took to Fantana. Do you know his girl is Fantana? He has taken all the stolen money to Fantana,” Gyewu-Appiah alleged during the programme.

He also called for Ablakwa and his wife to be imprisoned over the allegations, describing the minister as a serious thief. However, the claims made during the discussion have not been established as facts.

Fantana has reacted angrily to the comments, making it clear that she is prepared to pursue the matter through the courts. She accused Gyewu-Appiah of using a national media platform to spread false information about her.

In her response, the musician expressed frustration over what she considered an attempt to damage her reputation through unverified claims.

“I’m going to sue you for lying on me!!!!! A bunch of old useless fools sitting on the radio spreading lies! God punish you, useless men!” she stated.

Her response has brought further attention to the allegations, with the threatened lawsuit potentially taking the dispute beyond the airwaves.

As the issue develops, the claims against Ablakwa and Fantana remain allegations, while Fantana has made her intention to seek legal redress clear.
