Twist in Dr. Mutiso’s Case as Prof. Ndetei Reveals the Murder Suspect He Has No Problem With

The murder case involving Dr Victoria Mutiso took an unexpected turn when Professor David Ndetei appeared in court to be questioned over an affidavit opposing the release of the suspects on bail.

During the tense court session, Ndetei told the judge that he had no problem with his daughter, though he conceded that one particular matter concerning her still troubled him.The psychiatrist made the comments while responding to questions about an affidavit he had submitted opposing the release of Rose Mbithe and her children, who are charged in connection with Mutiso’s death.

Ndetei drew attention by speaking warmly of his daughter despite the painful family situation surrounding the case. He lauded her accomplishments in the teaching profession, describing her as one of the nation’s finest teachers.

He also asserted that she had ranked second nationally, citing her achievement in the education sector.

However, Ndetei revealed that something about his daughter remained a source of concern for him. He gave no further information on the issue in the reported testimony, leaving the precise nature of his worry unclear.

His remarks came as the court scrutinised an affidavit that Mbithe’s defence lawyers had contested. The legal team claimed the document was forged and questioned Ndetei’s state of mind when he drafted it.

Despite the challenge, Ndetei insisted that the affidavit was authentic and affirmed that the statements it contained were his own.

He also outlined his fears for his family’s safety should the suspects be released on bail. According to his testimony, they knew his relatives, home, workplace and people within his social circle.

The professor voiced concern that this familiarity could give them the chance to contact, intimidate or sway witnesses before they testify in court.

His testimony is part of the continuing proceedings as both sides present their arguments on the bail application.

The court has yet to decide whether Mbithe and her children should be freed on bail as the case surrounding Dr Mutiso’s death goes on.
