Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has donated GH¢20,000 to the family of a police officer who died in a road accident while travelling to perform security duties for ShattaFest 2026 in Accra.
The musician reportedly dispatched members of his team to visit the family of the late Officer Prince Adu and provide financial assistance to support his children following their father’s death.
The delegation included Ralph De Fellow, Ghanaian, Long Jon, Jerome Nii Kpakpo Acquaye and Larbiano. During the visit, the team presented an envelope containing GH¢20,000 to the bereaved family.
The donation is intended to help cover some of the immediate needs of the officer’s surviving children as they cope with the loss of their father.
Beyond the initial financial contribution, Shatta Wale has reportedly pledged to offer additional assistance to the family, signalling his intention to provide continued support.
Officer Prince Adu died in an accident while travelling to undertake security duties connected to the ShattaFest 2026 event. Reports surrounding his death indicated that he was on his way to change his uniform before reporting for duty.
The officer’s death has drawn attention to the personal sacrifices made by security personnel in carrying out their responsibilities at public events.
Shatta Wale’s donation is expected to offer some financial relief to the family as they navigate the difficult period, particularly in meeting the needs of the children left behind.
The promised additional support could also provide further assistance as the family adjusts to life without the deceased officer.
