Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) clinched a dramatic 4-2 victory over Barcelona in a high-stakes UEFA Champions League encounter, maintaining their top position in the league-phase standings. The match, held in Berlin, saw Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz score crucial late goals to secure the win after Barcelona had twice fought back to equalize.

PSG started aggressively, putting pressure on Barcelona's defense. Early threats from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, and Desire Doue signaled their intent. Barcelona, despite creating chances, found PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov in strong form, denying Raphinha and Gordon. Both teams faced early setbacks with Dembele and Dani Olmo leaving due to injuries.

PSG broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Doue scored from a distance. Barcelona responded after halftime, with Fermin setting up Xavi Espart for his first Champions League goal in the 55th minute. PSG regained the lead through Lucas Hernandez's header in the 72nd minute, only for Lamine Yamal to equalize for Barcelona seven minutes later. However, PSG's resilience shone through as Vitinha struck from outside the box in the 81st minute, followed by Fabian Ruiz adding a fourth five minutes later, sealing Barcelona's fate.

Barcelona captain Raphinha expressed disappointment, stating, “We were hoping for a win or at least a draw, but now we have to see what the coach tells us we need to improve.” PSG now leads with nine points from three matches, while Barcelona remains in fifth place with six points, suffering their first defeat of the season.
