U-17 Women’s World Cup: Black Maidens targets recovery against Brazil after opening defeat
Ghana’s Black Maidens will look to get their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign back on track when they take on Brazil on Wednesday, October 21, at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco.
The Group C match is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 GMT, with Ghana needing a positive result to keep their hopes of progressing in the tournament alive.
Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa’s team began their campaign with a 3-0 loss to Norway. The defeat left Ghana third in the group without a point, while Brazil moved to the top after beating Canada in their opening game.
The match against Brazil presents the Maidens with an opportunity to respond to their opening setback and show they can compete against some of the best teams at the tournament.
Ghana will also be looking to build confidence ahead of their final Group C game against Canada on Saturday, October 24.
With their campaign at an early stage, the Maidens will be determined to turn their performance into a positive result and put themselves back in contention.
