An Entire Street Emptied Into An APC Rally In Adamawa & You Say Northerners Don’t Like PBAT-Showunmi
PDP chieftain and member of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign council, Segun Showunmi, has pushed back strongly against the claims that the president lacks popularity in northern Nigeria, arguing that the evidence on the ground tells a completely different story.
Speaking on Channels TV, Showunmi pointed to a recent APC rally in Adamawa State as proof that northern fondness for the president is very much alive. “An entire street emptied into an APC rally in Adamawa two days ago, and yet you are telling me northerners don’t like President Bola Tinubu. How many people in the North did you ask? All the APC governors in the North are not northerners. The people singing on logo and dancing to it at weddings are not northerners. The people collecting NELFund and sending their kids to school are not northerners. The ones looking at the road constructions are not northerners,” Showunmi said.
He extended the same logic to the business community and political movements across the region. He argued that major northern business figures making significant strides in the economy, attendees at APC rallies, and members of the city boy movement are all being dismissed as if they do not count.
According to him, there is an hasty acceptance of the words of any northerner who appears on television to say Tinubu is unpopular.
