The possibility of Irene Naa Toshie Addo-Lartey becoming Kennedy Agyapong’s running mate has sparked political discussion following reports of a potential alliance between the two figures in the New Patriotic Party.

Class FM reported on Thursday, , that the former Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) could be positioning herself to work with Kennedy Agyapong as he pursues the NPP’s presidential nomination. The report has since generated considerable interest among party supporters and political commentators.

Information attributed to people close to Naa Toshie suggests that she may be preparing to throw her support behind Agyapong, who previously served as the Member of Parliament for Assin Central. The development has led to speculation that she could be hoping to secure the position of running mate if he becomes the party’s presidential candidate.

The rumours have also been linked to a prophecy delivered by Prophet ElBernard Nelson-Eshun during an online service on October 1, 2025. The prophet reportedly said that a woman would become Ghana’s ninth Vice President, with the swearing-in expected to take place on January 7, 2029.

In his prediction, Prophet ElBernard described the woman as someone who would promote women’s participation in leadership and help create more opportunities for women in government. He also interpreted the number nine as a sign of new beginnings and said the woman would have an important role in bringing positive changes to Ghana.

The prophecy has fuelled speculation on social media, with some people suggesting that Naa Toshie could be the woman the prophet was referring to. These discussions have intensified because of the reports linking her to Kennedy Agyapong’s political ambitions.

Despite the growing debate, Naa Toshie has not officially announced any decision to join forces with Agyapong, nor has she confirmed any intention to become his running mate. For now, the claims remain unconfirmed.
