Multiple wounded transported from two vehicle crash on River Road

A Shelby County sheriff’s deputy works next to a vehicle stuck in trees near the intersection of River Road and Miami Shelby Road around 7 p.m. Monday. Another vehicle was upside down nearby. Multiple injured people were removed. The vehicles went down a steep embankment before stopping. Two Sidney Fire Department medic units arrived first on the scene. Two Piqua medic units also responded, as did the Lockington Fire Department, which later took over the scene. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. There will be an update.
