Today’s Headline:Tinubu Is Wiser Than Atiku And Peter Obi-Showunmi, Jonathan Unveil Tricycle Factory

Segun Showunmi, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s decision not to attend every campaign rally ahead of the 2027 elections. He argued that the president is taking a smarter, more strategic approach and does not need to travel across the country for every event.

Speaking at a press briefing last week, Showunmi claimed Tinubu is far wiser than opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He expressed confidence that the president would defeat them again in 2027, whether or not he appears at the rallies.

The remarks, featured on ARISE News’ “What’s Trending” segment, portray Tinubu’s selective participation as a sign of political maturity rather than avoidance, positioning it as an effective strategy for the coming campaign.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is billed to unveil a tricycle factory and products in Abuja, on Wednesday, October 21.

The factory, Zeetin Technologies, located in Idu Industrial Area, assembles and also distributes the VZ150 and VZ200 tricycles in Nigeria.

According to a statement by the management of Zeetin Technologies, the establishment of the factory is aimed at boosting the nation’s economy, through local production of tricycle and related products.

The statement signed by the company’s Chairman, Mr Robert Azibaola, disclosed that Zeetin for Nigerians, is a promise that everything the company builds is built for the success of the person who buys the brand.

Senator Ali Ndume has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to grant final approval for proposed erosion-control projects worth ₦66bn across Southern Borno, including a ₦6bn intervention earmarked for the Aguza area.

Ndume said the projects had reached the final stage of the approval process, expressing optimism that the President would authorise them to proceed.

He disclosed this while addressing his constituents from Shani, where a college of Agriculture is to be sited when the bill receives concurrence from the House of Representatives.

He identified gully erosion as a major challenge facing communities across the region.

The senator said the proposed intervention would cover different local government areas in Southern Borno but did not provide a detailed breakdown of the allocations in his remarks.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among other party stakeholders, have urged party members in Lagos State to close ranks and strengthen grassroots mobilisation to reclaim the state in the 2027 general elections, following the party’s loss in 2023.

The duo who spoke on Monday at the APC Campaign Council retreat tagged “The Road to the Ballot: One Team, One Strategy, One Goal,” said Lagos was critical to the party’s national electoral fortunes, given its more than seven million registered voters.

Specifically, Yilwatda warned against internal divisions and selective support for APC candidates, stressing that members must work collectively to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu, the governor and other party candidates.
