Kwankwaso Was In The Villa On The Offer Of The President That He Should Come And Serve With Him-Sale

Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, spokesman of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has said that President Bola Tinubu invited Rabiu Kwankwaso to the Presidential Villa and offered him a position in his administration, but the NDC vice-presidential candidate rejected the offer.

Sale made this known during an interview on Trust TV while responding to claims that Kwankwaso might be working for Tinubu because of his past visit to the Villa.

He explained that visiting the President at his invitation should not be seen as proof of a political agreement. According to him, there has been no statement from Tinubu or his representatives suggesting that they reached an agreement with Kwankwaso to join the APC.

Sale also argued that Tinubu had a stronger political relationship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar than with Kwankwaso, pointing to their past political cooperation.

He noted that Kwankwaso and Atiku had previously worked together in the same party before moving to another party, adding that such political history should also be considered when judging their relationships.

The Kwankwasiyya spokesman further revealed that Kwankwaso visited the Villa a few months after Tinubu took office in 2023, following an invitation from the President.

However, he said Kwankwaso turned down Tinubu’s offer to work with his administration, insisting that the visit should not be used as evidence that the former Kano State governor was secretly supporting the President.

In his words, “Kwankwaso was in the Villa, virtually, a few months after the inauguration of the administration and on the offer of the president, that he should come and serve with him, which he flatly refused.”
