Both sides have won their opening two European matches in 2026-27. PSG beat Slovan Bratislava and Manchester City, while Hansi Flick’s Barcelona defeated Galatasaray and Feyenoord.
The French champions have won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons and currently lead the continental standings. Their authority was underlined by a remarkable opening half-hour at Manchester City last week, when they became the first visiting side to score at least three first-half goals at Etihad Stadium.
PSG led 3-0 despite Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, last season’s Champions League player of the year, not starting. Manchester City “won” the second half through two Erling Haaland goals either side of Maghnes Akliouche’s strike, but the damage had already been done.
After failing to win any of their first three Ligue 1 matches this season, PSG have now won six games in a row in all competitions. They followed their six-goal victory over Manchester City with a 3-1 comeback win at Strasbourg, scoring 19 times during the six-match run.
There are still defensive concerns for Enrique. PSG have kept only one clean sheet in 10 matches this season and have conceded in each of their last four.
Barcelona have similar problems at the back, with just one clean sheet in their past seven games, but their attacking record has been outstanding. They have scored nine goals in the Champions League, the joint second-highest total alongside Aston Villa and one behind PSG’s 10.
Barcelona scored five against Feyenoord and then recovered from a goal down to beat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul. They also defeated Real Betis 5-2 on Saturday to make it 11 wins from 11 matches in all competitions, scoring 48 goals. Their nine-match winning start in La Liga made them the first team to achieve that since Real Madrid in 1968.
PSG have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 victory at Camp Nou in the 2025-26 league phase. Barcelona’s most recent win in the fixture was a 3-2 away success in the 2024 quarter-final, but PSG responded with a 4-1 victory six days later.
The match comes with several suggested betting angles: PSG to win and both teams to score at 2.70, Ousmane Dembele to score at 2.07, and Lamine Yamal and Dembele both to be decisive at 2.22.
Senny Mayulu and goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni are PSG’s only injury concerns after missing the Strasbourg match with leg contusions. Mayulu has returned to team training. Willian Pacho, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Fabian Ruiz, Achraf Hakimi, Dembele and Desire Doue were rested or used from the bench at the weekend and are expected to return, along with captain Marquinhos.
Barcelona remain without Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji. Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Gerard Martin were hurt against Real Betis. Kounde and Martin are expected to be fine, while Garcia requires further tests for a suspected thigh problem. Gabriel Jesus was also seen limping, although Raphinha returned from a muscle issue and could join Anthony Gordon in attack.
PSG: Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha, Neves; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia.
Barcelona: J. Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, G. Martin, Cancelo; Pedri, Rodri; Yamal, Lopez, Gordon; Raphinha.
With PSG and Barcelona among Europe’s most prolific attacking teams, another high-scoring contest is expected. Enrique’s fresher key players could give the holders the edge and a third successive win over Barcelona, ending Flick’s perfect start with his former club.
