Afenyo-Markin Expresses Confidence in NPP’s Chances of Winning Youth Support in 2028
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, believes Ghana’s youth could give the New Patriotic Party (NPP) the support it needs to win the 2028 general elections.
Expressing his optimism, he said he was confident that young Ghanaians would give the party another opportunity at the polls.
His comments highlight the importance of young voters as political parties begin preparing for the next election cycle. Their concerns, including job creation, affordable education, entrepreneurship, housing and the cost of living, are expected to feature prominently in political campaigns.
For the NPP, winning over young voters will require credible proposals that address unemployment, expand educational opportunities and improve economic prospects.
The party will also have to convince voters that it has learned from its previous time in government and can offer effective solutions to the country’s challenges.
The NDC, meanwhile, will work to retain and strengthen its own support among younger voters as the political contest develops.
Afenyo-Markin’s statement underscores the growing importance of youth engagement in Ghanaian politics. Ultimately, the NPP’s ability to attract younger voters will depend on the strength of its policies, its record and the confidence it can build among the electorate.
