Just Days After Being Branded a Mole, Ndindi Nyoro Praises Ruto for Being Sharp at This

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has sparked fresh political debate after making remarks about President William Ruto’s leadership, recalling a moment when the Head of State allegedly asked where the government should begin its work.

“Ruto is sharp wakati wa kuomba kura lakini wakati wa kazi alikuwa ananiuliza TUNAANZIA wapi?” Nyoro said.

The remarks have drawn attention as the relationship between the two leaders continues to attract public interest ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Nyoro was once viewed as one of Ruto’s close political allies. However, their relationship has changed, with the Kiharu lawmaker now positioning himself within the opposition after breaking ranks with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

In August 2026, Nyoro launched the People’s Party of Kenya and declared his intention to work with opposition leaders seeking to challenge Ruto in the next election.

His latest comments appear to question the difference between campaigning for power and knowing how to govern once in office. However, the statement does not by itself establish the full circumstances surrounding the conversation he described.

The remarks come as opposition leaders continue their efforts to build a united front against the Kenya Kwanza administration. Nyoro has called for opposition parties to put aside their differences and agree on one presidential candidate to challenge Ruto.

The debate over leadership and governance has also become more prominent as politicians discuss issues affecting ordinary Kenyans, including education, jobs, healthcare and the cost of living.

Nyoro’s political shift has placed him among the younger leaders seeking a bigger role in shaping the country’s political future.

As the 2027 election approaches, his criticism of a president he once supported is likely to remain part of the wider political debate.

Do you think Nyoro’s latest remarks will influence how Kenyans view Ruto’s leadership ahead of 2027?
