Bruce Buffer doesn’t like Josh Hokit’s antics: ‘show some class’
Itâs rare to hear Bruce Buffer criticize a fighter, but the âVeteran voice of the Octagonâ isnât a fan of heavyweight Josh Hokitâs antics and comments outside of the cage.
Hokit is a polarizing figure. He takes on personas that some find cringe while others see as refreshing in a division that lacks personalities. He regularly calls out fighters on social media and weighs in on the political landscape, among other things. While recognizing Hokitâs fighting ability, Buffer views âThe Incredible Hokâ as disrespectful.
âHe can fight, but I donât like what he talks about,â Buffer said in a recent interview. âI think heâs disrespectful, and sorry, Josh if youâre watching, but itâs just the way it is. This is his thing. Itâs his game. Itâs not my style.â

Buffer specifically brought up Hokitâs comments about former First Lady Michelle Obama following his UFC Freedom 250 win over win over Derrick Lewis in June. âNow listen, Alex Pereira, Iâm going to chama on your mama, and lastly, Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America,â he said in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
âItâs like, show some class; that is just the way I am. The things he said at the White House, I am sorry, but I did not appreciate that,â said Buffer.
Hokit is undefeated and 4-0 inside the octagon. He challenges champion Ciryl Gane for the undisputed heavyweight title in the UFC 334 main event on Nov. 14.
