Older persons will receive their grants first, on October 30.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed revised November 2026 grant payment dates, ending weeks of uncertainty.
Older persons will receive their money first, on Friday, October 30, before the month closes.
The agency announced the new schedule on Wednesday, October 14. National Treasury approved the changes ahead of the local government elections to prevent payment disruptions.
Older persons would ordinarily receive their grants in the first week of November. This time, they will be paid before October ends.
Disability and children’s grants will follow in the first days of November.
SASSA says it consulted extensively with stakeholders before National Treasury approved the revised schedule. The agency insists the adjustment will not compromise service delivery.
“The Agency remains committed to ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their grants in an orderly and reliable manner,” SASSA said.
The change follows September’s frustration, when the SRD payment window overlapped with the Heritage Day public holiday on September 24.
The revised dates also come just weeks after the successful October 2026 grant payments.
SASSA has set aside November 5 for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.
The agency urged affected beneficiaries to respond to official communications and attend review appointments when requested.
Failure to complete the required verification could affect their grant payments.
SASSA is also using Home Affairs’ upgraded identity verification system to check records in under a second, as the department phases out green ID books.
SASSA has urged beneficiaries not to rush to its offices to confirm their payment dates.
“The Agency urges beneficiaries not to rush to SASSA offices unnecessarily,” it said.
Payments will follow the published schedule. The agency has also cautioned beneficiaries against misinformation as the local government elections approach.
Beneficiaries can check application updates and find enquiry options through the SASSA service portal.
Beneficiaries who need assistance can contact SASSA through the following channels:
Beneficiaries should use SASSA’s official communication channels to verify information about their grants and payment dates.
