SASSA Grant Beneficiaries Receive Update on November Payment Dates
For millions of South Africans who depend on social grants to put food on the table, pay bills, and support their families, knowing when their money will arrive is essential. Any changes to payment dates can affect how beneficiaries plan their monthly expenses, especially older persons, people living with disabilities, and families caring for children.
In the latest development, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced revised social grant payment dates for November 2026 ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, 14 October, the agency said the revised schedule followed consultations with stakeholders and approval from National Treasury. The adjustment is intended to ensure that grant payments continue smoothly and securely during the election period.
Under the revised schedule, Older Persons Grants will be paid on Friday, 30 October 2026. Disability Grants will follow on Monday, 2 November, while Children’s Grants are scheduled for Tuesday, 3 November.
SASSA has also set aside Thursday, 5 November, as an additional payment date for beneficiaries whose grants are undergoing review.
The agency has urged affected beneficiaries to respond to official review notices and attend appointments when requested. Beneficiaries have also been advised against visiting SASSA offices unnecessarily and are encouraged to follow the announced payment schedule.
Furthermore, the agency has reminded the public to use official communication channels to verify information and avoid being misled by unverified claims about grant payments.
For many households, social grants remain a vital source of financial support, helping families meet basic needs in difficult economic conditions. This makes clear communication about payment dates particularly important.
