February 18, 2026, marked a significant milestone for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 6, Kokori, as the party successfully conducted its ward congress, ushering in a new leadership and renewed commitment to its ideals.

The congress, which followed extensive consultations and consensus-building among ward leaders and members, produced Mr Efegoma Sunday Agbogun as Chairman and Chief Johnson Egburhe as Secretary.

The exercise reflected a spirit of unity and collective responsibility, with prominent party leaders throwing their weight behind the new executive. Among them were James Omeru, Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Faith Majemite, and Sunday Omovie.

Also present was the Councillor representing Kokori DSIEC Ward 11, Hon. Oghoghorhie Oghenevwede, who joined other stakeholders in pledging support for the newly elected officers.

Speaking at the event, Chief Omeru, who chaired the Congress Committee, commended party members for their unity and maturity throughout the process. He emphasised the importance of cohesion and strategic engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging the new executive to begin work immediately to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.

The congress was conducted in line with the Electoral Act, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ground to monitor proceedings and ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.

The INEC representative described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible, applauding party leaders and members for upholding democratic standards.

With the successful conclusion of the congress, APC Ward 6 Kokori now looks ahead with renewed optimism.

Party faithful expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chairman Efegoma Sunday Agbogun, the ward will experience greater unity, mobilisation, and sustained growth in the lead-up to future electoral contests.
