German-born Ghanaian youth star Julian Etse named Eintracht Frankfurt U21 player of the Month for September

The 20-year-old towering guardsman of Ghanaian descent was outstanding with impressive performances for the Young Eagles throughout the entire month in the German fourth-tier campaign this term

German-born Ghanaian youth star Julian Etse has been named Eintracht Frankfurt U21 player of the Month for September in the current 2026-27 Regionalliga-Sudwest.

The talented budding centre-back, who just signed his first professional contract with Eintracht Frankfurt on September 11, 2026, did elevate himself with the Frankfurt-based club reserve side last month after stepping into the role of the club’s captaincy during the absence of captain trio Ochojski, Kirchhoff and Sonnenwald.

ln announcing the winner of the award, the German giants have said in an excerpt of a statement via nachwuchs.eintracht.de ”Since the 2024/25 season, outstanding performances by academy players have been recognized with the Young Eagle of the Month award. This award acknowledges both on-field and off-field contributions. In September, a new signing demonstrated his importance: center-back Julian Etse

”In September, he not only demonstrated his defensive strengths but also scored his first goal for Eintracht. On matchday 8, the 20-year-old headed in the winning goal, securing the first home victory of the season. This marked his first goal in men’s football, and ironically, it was against TSV Steinbach Haiger, the club he had played for on loan the previous season, making twelve appearances,” added the statement.

The former VfL Bochum U17 star has so far featured in 7 games across all competitions for the Eintracht Frankfurt ll in this current campaign.

Given his glaring talent as a defender, Etse could become a cornerstone at the heart of defence for the Ghana national football team if the Ghana FA put in much efforts to acquire his international allegiances over his international football career in the near future given his Ghanaian heritage.
