Ghanaian gospel musician Abena Serwaaa Ophelia has urged women to pay close attention to a man’s character and attitude before investing their time, effort, and resources into supporting him.

Speaking on the entertainment programme on Accra-based No.1 FM’s Gospel Showbiz, she explained that while it is good for a woman to stand by a man during difficult times, some men fail to appreciate the sacrifices made for them.

According to her, many women dedicate themselves to helping men grow, only to be overlooked later when the man becomes successful.

She noted that in some situations, a woman may support a man through his struggles, believing in his dreams and standing by him.

However, after reaching a better stage in life, the same man may abandon the woman who helped him and choose someone he was previously attracted to.

Abena Serwaa Ophelia stressed that helping a partner is not wrong, but women should first examine the man’s behaviour and mindset.

She explained that a man’s attitude should determine whether a woman continues to invest her support in him, adding that appreciation, respect, and loyalty are important qualities to look out for.
