KP Governor directs to expedite proposals for increase in police salaries

PESHAWAR  – Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday directed the authorities to prepare and submit, at the earliest, a summary containing proposals for an increase in police salaries and an enhanced welfare package for the families of police martyrs.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Governor House, the Governor reviewed proposals relating to police salaries and welfare measures for the families of martyred and injured police personnel.

The meeting was attended by Adviser to Governor on Home Affairs Kifayatullah Khan, Chief Secretary Dr Fakhr-e-Alam Irfan, Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Additional Chief Secretary Home Amjad Ali Khan and other senior police officials.

The IG Police briefed the meeting on proposals for increasing police salaries, following which the governor instructed that a comprehensive summary be finalized and submitted without delay.

The meeting also reviewed proposals to enhance the 2025 compensation package for police martyrs and injured personnel. Among the recommendations discussed were replacing residential plots with cash financial assistance for the heirs of martyrs, providing financial support for the marriages of daughters of police martyrs, and establishing an endowment fund to meet the educational expenses of their children.

Agreeing with the proposals presented by the IG Police, Governor Faisal Kundi directed the authorities concerned to expedite the preparation and submission of the summary for further action.
