ARS Vs LIL: Arsenal Confirmed Starting Lineup Ahead of Champions League Clash

According to a report by London Evening Standard on Tuesday October 13, 2026, Arsenal have confirmed their starting lineup for tonight’s UEFA Champions League clash against Lille, with Myles Lewis-Skelly returning at left-back and Viktor Gyokeres earning a place in the starting eleven.

Mikel Arteta has made several changes to his team after Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi suffered ankle injuries during training.

The Gunners welcome the French side to the Emirates Stadium as they aim to record their second consecutive victory in the Champions League league phase. Arsenal began their European campaign with a 1-0 away win over Napoli and will be hoping to maintain their strong start.

However, Arteta has been forced to adjust his selection following the unexpected injuries to Hincapie and Zubimendi. Both players were expected to feature against Lille before picking up ankle problems during a training session after Saturday’s Premier League victory over Leeds United.

The pair have undergone further medical assessments, with Hincapie’s injury believed to be the more serious. Their absence creates a selection challenge for Arteta ahead of the European encounter.

Lewis-Skelly returns to the left-back position in Hincapie’s absence. The Arsenal manager has also opted to rest Riccardo Calafiori as he continues to manage the defender’s fitness.

Jurrien Timber starts at right-back, while Ezri Konsa partners Gabriel in central defence. Arteta has continued to rotate his full-backs, with Ben White named among the substitutes.

In midfield, Bruno Guimaraes and Mikel Merino come into the starting lineup alongside Declan Rice. The trio will be expected to provide balance and creativity as Arsenal look to control possession against Lille.

Eberechi Eze also receives an opportunity to start after missing out against Leeds. Noni Madueke joins him in the attacking lineup, while Gyokeres leads the forward line.

Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Guimaraes, Rice, Merino; Eze, Gyokeres, Madueke.

Substitutes: Arrizabalaga, Meslier, Calafiori, Mosquera, White, Salmon, O’Neill, Hashi, Saka, Odegaard, Havertz, Dowman.
