“I Left Nyesom Wike’s Political Camp Since 2018, But I Have Now Met Him Again– Sobomabo Jackrich
During an interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, High Chief Sobomabo Jackrich, popularly known as Egberipapa, revealed why he recently met FCT Minister Nyesom Wike after years of political separation.
Jackrich, who leads the Rivers Grassroots Movement, explained that he had left Wike’s political camp in 2018.
According to him, political developments in Rivers State had created an opportunity for previously divided groups to begin reconciliation discussions.
He disclosed that the ongoing consultations were connected to preparations for the 2027 presidential election and efforts to support President Bola Tinubu.
Jackrich explained that Governor Siminalayi Fubara had encouraged his political supporters to reconcile with Wike and other stakeholders pursuing similar objectives.
He said the governor’s position influenced his decision to approach Wike despite their previous political differences.
According to him, their meeting involved a brief discussion, with further consultations expected as the reconciliation process continued.
The former governorship candidate also disclosed that Wike recently met leaders of Fubara’s political group to discuss resolving their differences.
However, Jackrich maintained that genuine political reconciliation should involve other influential grassroots groups rather than concentrate exclusively on prominent politicians.
Explaining his decision, Jackrich said: “I Left Nyesom Wike’s Political Camp Since 2018, But I Have Now Met Him Again Because We Are Trying To Reconcile Political Groups Ahead Of The 2027 Election.”
