Wumi Toriola Goes All Out For Son Zion’s 7th Birthday, Puts Him On Giant Lagos Billboard

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has gone all out to celebrate her son, Zion, as he clocks seven, commissioning a massive billboard in Lagos in honour of his special day.

The actress shared the exciting development on social media, revealing that the city would be celebrating her son throughout the week.

“It’s our birthday. Lagos is celebrating my baby all week. Love from assistant birthday girl. Happy birthday, Zion.”

In a heartfelt birthday message, Wumi described Zion as the softest part of her, the purest reflection of her heart, and one of the most beautiful gifts God has given her. Her emotional tribute has since attracted reactions from fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom joined her in celebrating the young boy.

Beyond the grand display, the birthday celebration also fulfilled a promise the actress had made to her son two years ago.

On the eve of his birthday, Wumi disclosed that she had promised Zion a big celebration when he turned five. However, the commitment proved difficult to fulfil at the time because she was occupied with filming her debut cinema project, Queen Lateefah.

Determined not to let the promise go unfulfilled, the actress assured her son that she would make it up to him when he turned seven. True to her word, she has now organised a memorable celebration for him.

“When you turned five, I promised you a big birthday celebration, but life happened. Mummy was busy filming her first cinema movie, “Queen Lateefah” and we couldn’t make it happen. So I promised you that when you turned seven, we would celebrate BIG,” she wrote.

The grand gesture highlights Wumi’s love for her son and her determination to fulfil the promise she made to him despite the demands of her acting career.

Meanwhile, the actress recently made headlines following her criticism of Desola Afod, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Kunle Afod.

The controversy stemmed from Desola’s remarks about theatre practitioners who address her by her first name. Reacting to the comments, Wumi described them as disrespectful and challenged Desola to identify the individuals she was referring to instead of making general statements about actors and actresses.
