While trying to escape, he reportedly rammed into people and cars, leaving destruction on his path. Some unconfirmed reports claim he k!lled people and destroyed cars and other properties. He also reportedly rammed the gate at the entrance to VGC. One video shows a man saying that the thief nearly hit him, which is why he joined to chase after him. The thief finally crashed into a canal and locals beat him up as he tried to come out of the dirty water.

After the beating, he was handed over to the police.
