Mahama governing Ghana as his private business—Former Staffer
Former staffer under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government, Samuel Bryan Buaben has questioned the President of Ghana’s failure to appoint a replacement for Justice Sophia Akuffo on the Council of State.
He says the President is running the country as his private business and needs to be called to order.
In a social media post, Samuel Bryan Buabeng who has sued the president over his failure to appoint a replacement although Ghana has two other living former Chief Justices could not fathom why other who resigned and retired from the EC have been replaced, but the slot for a former Chief Justice on the Council of State remains empty.
He said “Dr. Bossman Asare resigned as Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), while Mr. Samuel Tettey retired as Deputy Commissioner in June. Yet, both have been replaced by card-bearing NDC members.
Meanwhile, it has been a year since Justice Sophia Akuffo resigned from the Council of State, but the President has deliberately failed to appoint a replacement, despite there being two living former Chief Justices, Anin Yeboah and Georgina Wood. Why dilly-dally in immature partisan inclinations with your topmost advisory team?
Why is Bole Idi Amin running this country as though it were his private business, where he can do whatever he pleases?”.
