‘I worst pass Boniface ooo’ – Super Eagles flop against Russia warns Nigerians

According to a report by OwnGoalNigeria on Monday, October 12, 2026, Super Eagles flop Stephen Fumen Michael has warned Nigerians that he is worse than Boniface when it comes to responding to criticism of his performance in the 3-3 draw against Russia.

Michael declared that he is ready to respond harshly to anyone who speaks negatively about his display.

The 19-year-old midfielder took to social media after his disappointing performance in the international friendly, warning bloggers and other critics against making negative comments about his display.

Michael, who plays for Danish second-division club Vendsyssel FF, made his debut for Nigeria in the encounter but struggled to impress before being substituted at half-time.

Nigeria were trailing 2-1 when the youngster was withdrawn after failing to complete two passes.

The friendly provided head coach Eric Chelle with an opportunity to assess players he could consider for Nigeria’s under-23 team ahead of the Olympic qualifiers against the Democratic Republic of Congo in November.

Michael was among 10 players given the opportunity to impress the coach during the match.

However, his performance reportedly raised doubts about his chances of securing an invitation for the crucial under-23 assignment.

Reacting to the prospect of being criticized for his display, Michael issued a strongly worded warning in a social media post written in Nigerian Pidgin.

“My mouth no good… I worst pass Boniface ooo I dey wait make one blogger talk rubbish about how I play first… make I insult person papa,” he wrote.

The statement translates to a warning that he has a sharp tongue, describing himself as worse than Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface when it comes to responding to critics.

He also threatened to insult the father of any blogger who criticized his performance.

Boniface, who has previously been known for his confrontational exchanges with critics on social media, was used by Michael as a reference point in his warning.

Michael’s reaction comes after a difficult introduction to international football, with his performance against Russia drawing attention to his struggles during the first half.

The midfielder will now hope to put the disappointing outing behind him as he continues his development at Vendsyssel FF, while his prospects of featuring in Nigeria’s under-23 team remain uncertain following the assessment game.
