Man accused of firing shots into 3 occupied Salisbury homes

SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – A man is accused of firing shots into three occupied homes in Rowan County last Tuesday.

Court records show Robert Duncombe, 36, was charged with five counts of felony discharging a weapon into occupied property, along with misdemeanor injury to property and communicating threats.

The shooting happened during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 6, in a neighborhood along East Franklin Street near North Clay Street in Salisbury.

Police said gunfire struck three occupied homes, but no injuries were reported. Officers “quickly” identified Duncombe as a suspect, and a search of his home later that day turned up multiple illegal firearms, ammunition, and accessories.

Duncombe was arrested after the search. His motive was not immediately clear.
