Ghanaian Boxer Presents WBO Africa Title To Asantehene After Beating Nigerian Champion In Lagos

Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, has presented his WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the entire Asanteman.

The big presentation happened at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi during the seventh Akwasidae celebration. It was a powerful moment — the champion returning home to give his victory to the King who blessed him.

Before traveling to Nigeria, Freezy Macbones went to Manhyia Palace. Dressed in white, he stood humbly before Otumfuo as his boxing kit was presented for prayers and blessings. The Asantehene spoke to him, encouraged him, and blessed him for the tough battle ahead.

On October 1st, in Lagos, Freezy Macbones entered enemy territory. He faced Nigerian champion Godday “Zodsolo” Appah in front of a loud Nigerian crowd at the “Chaos in the Ring” event.

He started strong and even dropped Appah in the first round. The Nigerian fought back hard in the middle rounds and made it tough. But Macbones stayed disciplined, finished strong, and convinced the judges.

Two judges scored it 95-93 for Macbones, one judge scored it 94-94 draw. Majority decision. New champion. Ghana wins.

The win takes his record to 13 wins, 1 loss, with 11 knockouts — a huge achievement for a 37-year-old who started boxing late.

So on Sunday, during Akwasidae, he came back to where it all started. He stormed the streets of Kumasi with musician Jay Bhad, showing his belt to fans at Kejetia, before going straight to Manhyia to present the title to Otumfuo.

The kit blessed at the Palace became the kit that won a continental title in Lagos.

He went to the King for blessing. He returned as a champion.
