I’m Not Against Atiku And Tinubu Due To Old Age; I’m Against Them Because Their Ideas Are Old–Sowore
During an interview on SYMFONI’s Unfiltered podcast, African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore explained why he regularly criticises President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Sowore made the remarks while responding to questions about his assessment of prominent politicians and their involvement in Nigeria’s political system.
According to him, his disagreements with both politicians were not motivated by their ages or the length of time they had spent in politics.
He explained that his criticism was based on their previous records, political decisions and the ideas they continued to present to Nigerians.
The activist recalled that he had participated in political activities for approximately 35 years, beginning during his university days.
He also mentioned his involvement in student politics at the University of Lagos while explaining his experience with leadership contests.
Sowore maintained that politicians should be judged by their ideas and what they have accomplished rather than their ages alone.
He argued that Nigeria’s younger generation required policies capable of addressing present economic difficulties and improving living conditions.
According to him, his criticism of established political figures reflected his dissatisfaction with their previous contributions to governance.
Clarifying his position, Sowore said: “I Am Not Against Atiku And Tinubu Because They Are Old; I Am Against Them Because Their Ideas Are Too Old To Lead This Generation To Prosperity.”
