EPL Table After Manchester City Won 3-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Manchester City secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Liverpool after scoring three goals in the second half of their encounter.

Both teams struggled to break the deadlock during the opening 45 minutes, despite creating several opportunities. Gianluigi Donnarumma made important saves to keep Liverpool from scoring before the interval.

Liverpool threatened through Victor Munoz and Lewis Koumas, while Manchester City created chances through Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki. However, both defences remained organised, ensuring the first half ended goalless.

The game took a decisive turn in the 62nd minute when Ryan Gravenberch received his second yellow card, leaving Liverpool with ten men. Manchester City took advantage of their numerical superiority and increased the pressure on the home side.

Erling Haaland broke the deadlock in the 65th minute after reacting quickly to a rebound inside the penalty area before firing into the bottom-left corner to give City the lead.

Three minutes later, Jeremy Doku doubled City’s advantage with an excellent finish from the edge of the penalty area, directing a precise strike into the top-right corner.

Liverpool attempted to fight back through Florian Wirtz, Lewis Koumas and Alexis Mac Allister, but Donnarumma remained impressive in goal, making crucial saves to protect City’s lead.

Manchester City continued to dominate possession and extended their advantage in the 78th minute when Rayan Cherki finished confidently after receiving a through ball from Josko Gvardiol.

Liverpool made several substitutions in an attempt to spark a comeback, but City’s defence remained solid. Donnarumma also denied Mac Allister from a free kick during the closing stages.

Despite late pressure and three minutes of added time, Liverpool failed to find the net. Manchester City held on to secure a 3-0 win, with Haaland, Doku and Cherki scoring in the second half to seal the victory.
