Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP Bigwigs Pay Courtesy Visit to Nana Kobina Nketsia in Essikado

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, alongside leading figures of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has paid a visit to Nana Kobina Nketsia at his residence in Essikado, Sekondi-Takoradi. The meeting, which was shared online by broadcaster Baba Adam, brought together some of the party’s most prominent personalities for what appeared to be a cordial engagement with the respected traditional leader.

Images from the visit showed Dr. Bawumia exchanging a warm handshake with Nana Kobina Nketsia, while other NPP officials looked on. Other photos captured the delegation seated indoors with the chief, as well as group shots of the entourage outside the residence. The atmosphere appeared relaxed and respectful, reflecting the importance the party places on engaging with traditional authorities.

The visit is significant given Nana Kobina Nketsia’s standing in the Essikado traditional area and the broader Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis. Engagements of this nature are often seen as part of efforts to strengthen ties with traditional leaders and communities, particularly in the Western Region, which remains an important political battleground.

The presence of several NPP bigwigs alongside Dr. Bawumia underscores the party’s continued outreach efforts and its focus on maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the country. Such visits also offer opportunities for informal consultations and the exchange of views on issues affecting the community and the nation.

Details of what was discussed during the closed-door engagement were not immediately made public. However, the visit itself has generated interest among party supporters and political observers, who view it as part of the NPP’s broader engagement strategy with traditional institutions.

The meeting with Nana Kobina Nketsia adds to the list of engagements by Dr. Bawumia and NPP leadership as they continue to interact with various segments of society.
