Premier League Standings After Manchester City Beat Liverpool 3-0
Manchester City have strengthened their grip on the top spot in the Premier League standings after beating Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield.
City have maintained their position at the summit of the table after collecting three more points against Liverpool in a match that has seen them take advantage of the hosts’ numerical disadvantage in the second half.
Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki have scored the goals that have handed Pep Guardiola’s side a convincing victory away from home.
Liverpool’s challenge has become more difficult after Ryan Gravenberch received a red card in the second half, leaving the home side with ten players. Manchester City have capitalised on the situation to secure all three points.
The victory has taken Manchester City to 18 points from six matches, keeping them at the top of the standings. They have scored 16 goals and conceded five, giving them a goal difference of +11.
Arsenal have remained second with 15 points from six matches, three points behind the leaders. Brighton have occupied third place with 13 points after scoring 18 goals and conceding five.
Brentford have sat fourth with ten points, while Everton have occupied fifth place with the same number of points. Chelsea have also collected ten points but have remained sixth in the standings.
Leeds United have occupied seventh place with nine points, while Hull City have sat eighth with the same number of points.
Liverpool have dropped to ninth place after their defeat, having collected nine points from six matches. They have scored seven goals and conceded seven, leaving them with a goal difference of zero.
Ipswich Town have also collected nine points and occupied tenth position. Newcastle United have sat eleventh with eight points from five matches, while Crystal Palace have completed the top twelve with seven points.
Manchester City have therefore continued their stay at the top of the Premier League table, opening a three-point gap over Arsenal. Their latest victory has strengthened their early title challenge, while Liverpool have been left with more work to do as they seek to climb the standings.
City will now look to maintain their winning run, while their closest rivals will be hoping to reduce the gap in the coming matches.
