LIV 0-0 MCI: Four Worst Liverpool Players in First-Half of The Premier League Clash
According to a report by Flashscore on Sunday October 11, 2026, Liverpool went into half-time against Manchester City with the score level at 0-0 after struggling to make their attacking opportunities count.
Although Victor Munoz threatened the visitors’ goal on several occasions, Liverpool’s attacking moves were often interrupted by poor decisions, inaccurate deliveries and unnecessary fouls.
Florian Wirtz endured a frustrating first half as he struggled to make his creative contributions count. In the 11th minute, the midfielder was penalised for dangerous play after committing a foul. Two minutes later, his attempt to slide a pass through to a teammate was blocked by a Manchester City defender. Wirtz also failed to deliver an effective corner in the 20th minute, as Gianluigi Donnarumma read the situation well and gathered the ball.
Lewis Koumas struggled to maintain discipline and effectiveness during the opening half. The Liverpool player committed a foul in the 22nd minute while attempting to win possession, earning the referee’s attention. Four minutes later, he was penalised again for a poor challenge. Koumas was subsequently punished for an offensive foul in the 32nd minute, interrupting Liverpool’s attacking momentum.
Bradley Barcola failed to turn his attacking runs into clear scoring opportunities. In the ninth minute, he attempted a dangerous pass from the edge of the penalty area, but Manchester City’s defence intercepted it and cleared the danger. He later embarked on an individual run in the 25th minute, only for an opposing defender to block his progress. Although Barcola showed a willingness to take on defenders, he struggled to produce the decisive action needed to trouble Donnarumma.
Despite creating some promising moments, Victor Munoz struggled to make his opportunities count consistently. In the third minute, his close-range effort following a well-timed pass was blocked on the goal line by a defender. He missed another excellent opportunity in the 31st minute when his shot from inside the penalty area went narrowly wide of the right post. Although he tested Donnarumma with a long-range effort two minutes later, the goalkeeper made a comfortable save.
