“I Warned El-Rufai He Would Be Jailed If He Returned” – Galadima Claims

Buba Galadima has stated he warned former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El Rufai he would be jailed if he returned to Nigeria claiming they did not have good intentions for him.

Galadima made the statement during an interview with SYMFONI TV while discussing El-Rufai’s continued detention and the political situation surrounding his case.

Speaking about the warning he gave the ex-governor he said he told him to be careful of the way he was carrying himself.

“I advised him that he should be careful of the way he carries himself.”

Stating that he warned him he would have to go into exile or jail.

He also added he had done so publicly during interviews with BBC and Nigerian television stations.

Galadima then said when he heard he was returning from Egypt he went to Rabiu Kwankwaso and asked him to convince the former governor not to return.

Kwankwaso contacted El-Rufai who postponed his return before announcing another date and returning to Nigeria.

Galadima said he felt he had underestimated the situation by returning despite the warning.

Claiming El Rufai should be treated fairly by the law as others accused of similar things had been given bail.

Galadima said he should not get special treatment because of who he was but be judged by the law.
