Federal govt notifies deployment of Army in KP to assist civil admin
The federal government has issued a notification for the deployment of the Pakistan Army to assist the civil administration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Approval has been granted for the deployment of Pakistan Army troops and resources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Article 245 of the Constitution. The federal government has authorized the deployment of the Pakistan Army for the duration of the proclamation issued under Articles 232 and 234. The objective of the Pakistan Army’s deployment is to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, as well as government installations.
According to the directive, the Pakistan Army will assist the civil administration in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will determine the number of troops and resources to be deployed following consultation with the Military Operations Directorate at GHQ. The directive regarding the deployment of the Pakistan Army will be published in the upcoming issue of the Gazette of Pakistan, Part II.
