Warren County grand jury returns indictments

The following people were indicted Oct. 1 by a Warren County grand jury:

Emonnie Dion Branch, 51, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, murder of a first responder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence; no bond.

Dewey Richard Lindsey, 66, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants (second offense within 10 years, aggravating circumstances), failure of owner to maintain required insurance, no operator’s license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, no or expired registration plate, second-degree persistent felony offender; $5,000 cash bond plus two-way currently in effect.

Aaron Lee McQueary, 20, 292 Audley Ave., Apt. A, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault; $10,000 cash bond in defendant’s name only.

Douglas Everett Meeks, 29, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication; transfer bond.

Javon Emmitt Mitchell, 24, 850 Wilkinson Trace, engaging in organized crime (criminal syndicate), trafficking in marijuana (five pounds or more, firearm enhanced), two counts of trafficking in marijuana (more than eight ounces but less than five pounds), trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces), possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree persistent felony offender; transfer bond.

Dayshawn Malik Mitchell, 27, 1407 Calgary Way, engaging in organized crime (criminal syndicate), trafficking in marijuana (five pounds or more, firearm enhanced), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than 10 dosage units, firearm enhanced), possession of drug paraphernalia; transfer bond.

George Dunson Murray, 57, 1309 Scottsville Road, engaging in organized crime (criminal syndicate), trafficking in marijuana (five pounds or more, firearm enhanced), first-degree persistent felony offender; transfer bond.

Savyon O’Bryan Howard, 24, 614 Kirtley Way, engaging in organized crime (criminal syndicate), trafficking in marijuana (five pounds of more, firearm enhanced); transfer bond.

Michelle Christina Plaaten, 36, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants (third offense within 10 years); $50,000 cash bond in defendant’s name only.

Shawn Richard Sleeper, 31, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, six counts of distribution of obscene matter to a minor; $25,000 cash bond in defendant’s name only.

Cody Lionel Barnard Thomas, 41, Albany, Georgia, theft of identity; $5,000 cash bond in defendant’s name only.

Sarah Suzanne Wells, 51, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, third-degree assault, third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree disorderly conduct; $5,000 cash bond.

Dusty Gene Westmoreland, 36, c/o Warren County Regional Jail, first-degree burglary, intimidating a participant in the legal process, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault (domestic), second-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking of property valued at less than $500, menacing; $15,000 cash bond.
