Staying Warm Into Monday Before a Big Pattern Change

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Happy Sunday! As we wrap up the weekend today, expect continued dry, sunny, and warm conditions. There will be a light southerly breeze today with high temperatures around 80 degrees. Tonight will remain dry and mild, with lows in the low 60s and increasing high clouds.

The warm weather continues on Monday to start the new work week. In fact, it may even feel a bit humid as dew points rise into the 60s. The daytime hours will be dry with some showers then becoming possible Monday evening and overnight as a low-pressure system drags a cold front through the state. Not everyone will get wet, though. Better chances will be to the north.

The aforementioned cold front will move through Tuesday morning, and behind it, northwesterly winds will usher in drier and cooler air. Tuesday and Wednesday should be mostly dry, though there may be a slight chance of rain near the WI/IL border (most stays to the south). Rain chances will then increase Thursday into Friday as another system may move through the region, potentially bringing gusty northwest winds behind it. By next weekend, much colder air is expected to arrive as strong high pressure builds in from Canada, bringing the potential for overnight frost across the region.
