Latest Premier League Table As Solanke Stun Manchester United With Late Equaliser

According to a report by BBC Sport on October 10, 2026, Manchester United missed another opportunity to secure a Premier League victory after Tottenham Hotspur fought back to claim a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, despite finishing the match with 10 players.

Tottenham started with greater urgency, using their high press to unsettle United and create several openings. However, Mohammed Kudus, Conor Gallagher and Dominic Solanke were unable to turn their first-half chances into goals, allowing the hosts to remain level at the interval.

United responded more positively after the restart and broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute. Bryan Mbeumo found the net after receiving an assist from Matheus Cunha, putting Michael Carrick’s team in a promising position to collect three points.

The contest took another turn when Rodrigo Bentancur was shown a red card in the 78th minute following a confrontation with Luke Shaw. Tottenham were forced to continue with a numerical disadvantage, but United failed to make their extra player count.

In the second minute of added time, Sandro Tonali delivered a cross that Solanke met with a header to level the score. The late goal secured a valuable point for Tottenham and left the home supporters frustrated.

The draw means Roberto De Zerbi’s side remain without a league win after six matches and are 18th on the league table with only three points to their name. United have also endured a difficult opening to the campaign, and their failure to beat 10-man opposition for a second consecutive league match has left them at 12th position and intensified concerns about their consistency.

Although Carrick is not facing an immediate dismissal, another dropped lead will increase pressure on him to deliver better results.
