Lord Of Glory Ministry, Victoria Ann Academy Collaborate To Train Pastors, Others On Piggery

The Lord of Glory Ministry in collaboration with the Victoria Ann Academy plans to hold a strategic and profitable pig farming training workshop for gospel ministers and other people who are interested in going into piggery.

According to a statement by Bishop Dr Herbert Ekechukwu, the General Overseer of Lord of Glory Ministry and President, Victoria Ann Academy, the training workshop which will be for two days will be held by the end of November at a date to be announced soon.

Bishop Ekechukwu, who spoke to Sunday Independent, said the two days’ workshop will be an intensive training on practical pig farming.

Making reference to Apostle Paul in the Bible, Bishop Ekechukwu encouraged ministers of the gospel to go into ‘Tent Making’ (an extra part-time business for ministers) now that tithes and offerings are getting leaner by the day due to the effects of the current economic reforms.

He also stressed that at this time when the country’s economy has become so bad, people need to expand their income generating sources.

One of such means of doing so, he said, is by going into pig farming through which a lot of income could be generated by ministers to help run their ministries, while others who had been looking for areas of investment can go into it.

The cleric stated that pig farming needs specialised training as it could bring heavy losses, even as it could generate huge profit.

He said that through the two-day training, the technical details of how to run pig farms successfully would be taught to the participants.

Bishop Ekechukwu stated: “This is a unique opportunity to learn detailed scientific, technical and management knowledge on pig farming.

Courses to be taught include strategic breed selection, profitable feeding, farm management (cost effectiveness), disease prevention (prophilacy/therapy) and marketing of pigs.”

According to him, those expected to attend the training workshop include ministers of the gospel who may want to generate funds to help them run their ministries, farmers, Agrobiz investors, retirees, civil servants, graduates and youth.

He said that hand-outs and certificates will be given at the end of the course which will hold at the Lord Of Glory Ministry auditorium, NO 4/6 Olohunwa Street, Mero 1, Totowu, Igbesa, Ogun State on dates to be announced soon, saying that people should look out for the fliers and information in social and mainstream media on the workshop.

Bishop Ekechukwu stated also that the participants will take time off during the workshop to pray for divine intervention in the country’s affairs as well as divine support and progress in their callings, their ministries and businesses.
