CHE 5-1 BOU: Match Review And Updated English Premier League Table
According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Chelsea ended their three-match winless run in the Premier League with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, as Jordan Henderson scored twice to help the Blues secure all three points.
Chelsea made an explosive start, taking the lead after just 64 seconds. Cole Palmer carried the ball forward before setting up Henderson, who produced a first-time curling finish that went in off the post to give the home side an early advantage.
The hosts doubled their lead moments later when Morgan Rogers received the ball just inside the penalty area and bent his effort beyond former Chelsea goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic. Antonio Silva’s head helped the ball on its way, leaving Bournemouth with an early two-goal deficit to overcome.
Despite Chelsea controlling much of the first half, Bournemouth had an opportunity to reduce the deficit before the interval. Rayan raced in behind the home defence, but goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez reacted quickly to deny him nine minutes before the break.
Chelsea resumed the contest with another decisive attacking move, extending their advantage shortly after the restart. Pedro Neto worked his way past compatriot Antonio Silva before delivering a pass to Joao Pedro, who fired the ball into the roof of the net to make it 3-0.
Bournemouth responded through Evanilson, who scored after Moises Caicedo attempted to clear the ball inside Chelsea’s six-yard box. The Brazilian stretched out a leg to block the clearance, diverting the ball into the net for his first league goal in 16 matches.
However, the visitors could not build on that breakthrough as Chelsea restored their three-goal advantage. Joao Pedro timed his run into the penalty area perfectly before applying a first-time finish to convert Pep Chavarria’s driven pass, completing his brace and making it 4-1.
Henderson then completed his own double with a direct free-kick, adding Chelsea’s fifth goal and putting the result beyond doubt. Bournemouth had no further response as the Blues comfortably saw out the contest.
The victory extended Chelsea’s unbeaten home run in competitive matches to five games, comprising four wins and one draw. It also marked their 10th consecutive unbeaten meeting with Bournemouth, with five victories and five draws in that sequence.
