Reactions As Seyi Makinde Announces His Presence In Yola To Spread His ‘Reset Nigeria’ Message

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has arrived in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, to participate in the North-East town hall meeting of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) as political activities gather momentum ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The governor announced his arrival in a social media post, revealing that he had joined other party members for discussions on preparations for the forthcoming elections.

According to him, the meeting is part of the party’s efforts to engage its candidates and strengthen its activities across the North-East region.

Makinde also disclosed that he and other APM members had met with candidates seeking various elective positions in the zone on the night before the town hall meeting.

The discussions, he explained, focused on the 2027 general election and the party’s preparations for the political contest.

In his announcement, the governor confirmed that the gathering was organised under the platform of the APM, where party members would have an opportunity to discuss issues surrounding their participation in the next general election.

He wrote that the delegation was in Yola for the party’s North-East town hall meeting, adding that the previous night’s engagement with candidates had centred on preparations for the elections.

The Oyo governor further reiterated his determination to take his Reset Nigeria message beyond his home state, saying the initiative was intended to secure the support of Nigerians for his vision of a country that works for all citizens.

Makinde maintained that he and his associates would continue to reach out to different parts of the country as they seek the people’s mandate to bring about the changes they believe Nigeria needs.

His visit to Adamawa comes as political parties and their aspirants begin to intensify consultations, build alliances and prepare their structures ahead of the 2027 polls.

The engagement also signals the APM’s efforts to bring its candidates together and coordinate political activities within the North-East zone.

The town hall meeting is expected to offer party members a forum to exchange ideas, discuss campaign preparations and consider strategies for reaching voters across the region.

Such engagements can also help candidates communicate their priorities and align their activities with the party’s broader political objectives.
