The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released its list of candidates for the 2027 governorship elections, with former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, missing from the list for Gombe State.

Pantami’s omission comes despite his victory in the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) court-ordered governorship primary rerun, amid disputes over his eligibility and the party’s nomination process.

The former minister won the rerun primary conducted across polling units in Gombe State under the direct primary system, polling 2,054 votes to defeat Khamisu Mailantarki, who received 389 votes, while Aliyu Garry garnered 112 votes.
