Iran: I Was In Washington Three Times Telling Trump This Would Be The End Of American Empire-Carlson

According to a video posted by Sky News on October 9, 2026, Tucker Carlson has revealed that he travelled to Washington three times in the month before the conflict with Iran to warn President Donald Trump against pursuing regime change, arguing that the decision could mark the end of the American empire.

Despite his warnings, Carlson said Trump went ahead with the war regardless of the potential consequences.

The American political commentator explained that he had made repeated efforts to influence the president’s decision before the conflict began, discussing his concerns with Trump on several occasions.

Carlson said he was worried that a regime change operation in Iran could weaken American global influence, damage the US dollar and lead to the deaths of American soldiers.

He added that he communicated these risks directly to Trump and believed the president understood the possible consequences but decided to proceed anyway.

In his words, Tucker Carlson said, “I was talking to Trump all the time. I was in Washington three times in the last month talking to Trump about this, trying to argue against a regime change effort in Iran because I thought it’d be terrible for the United States.

“I thought it’d be the end of American empire. I thought the United States would wind up retreating from the Middle East. And those may be good things, by the way. I don’t know, who knows.

“But I thought that it’d be terrible for the US dollar and I thought Americans would die. And I told him all of those things. And he knew that those were risks, realistic risks, and he did it anyway,” he said.

Carlson also expressed concern over what he described as a lack of strong opposition from advisers surrounding the president, questioning why more people within Trump’s circle did not challenge the decision despite the serious risks associated with the conflict.
