Man mauled to death after entering tiger enclosure at zoo
A man was savagely mauled to death after entering the tiger enclosure at a zoo in England.
The unidentified man got into the tiger’s lair at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday afternoon and was quickly set upon by a massive Siberian tiger.
Shocking footage showed the tiger biting and clawing at the man’s back as he sat on the grass and tried to escape.

Horrified bystanders yelled in the background and made frantic pleas of “no” as the tragedy unfolded.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a man inside the enclosure at 1:35 p.m. local time.
“The tiger subsequently attacked the man, resulting in serious injury,” the South Yorkshire Police said in a statement.
“Emergency services attended and sadly, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Police confirmed the tiger was “uninjured and remained in the enclosure following the incident” and assured that there is no risk to the public.
The Yorkshire Wildlife Park closed for the weekend after the shocking incident.
“We can confirm that a serious incident has occurred today at the tiger enclosure,” the park said in a statement, adding, “The park is now closed and will remain closed tomorrow.”

It is unclear how the man got into the enclosure.
Witnesses said that a black screen was put up around the enclosure following the mauling, according to local outlet The Star.
The zoo also features a polar bear, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and black rhinos.
The victim’s family is being supported by “specialist officers,” according to the South Yorkshire Police, but it is not clear if they were at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with them at this distressing time,” police said.
