LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday disposed of a petition challenging the detention of Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, and her driver Muhammad Ameer after expressing satisfaction with a report submitted by the Punjab Home Department. Justice Abher Gul Khan heard the petition filed by Shehryar Khan, who had challenged the detention orders concerning his mother, Aleema Khan, and driver Muhammad Ameer. The deputy commissioner and other relevant authorities were named as respondents in the petition. During the hearing, a provincial law officer submitted a report on behalf of the Punjab Home Department, stating that representations seeking redress of the petitioners’ grievances had already been filed with the department. The law officer further informed the court that the relevant appellate authority would decide the representations in accordance with the law.
