KARACHI: The Shehbaz-led government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs0.66 per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs0.52 per litre.

Following the revision, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs398.30 per litre, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs396.24 per litre. The revised prices came into effect on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The notification stated that the revised prices of petrol and high-speed diesel would remain effective from October 10 to October 12, 2026.

The Petroleum Division said the adjustment was necessitated by developments in the international market, including changes in Platts prices, premiums and other related costs.

It is worth noting that on Thursday, the government had increased the price of petrol by Rs2.31 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs0.78 per litre. In the latest revision, petrol has become slightly cheaper, while the price of diesel has increased further.
