Earthquake occurred at depth of 196km underground

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale was felt in Swat and surrounding areas.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 196 kilometres underground.

The epicentre was in the Hindu Kush mountain range, the centre reported.

Few days back, earthquake tremors were felt in Swat and surrounding areas, prompting residents in some locations to move out of their homes as the ground shook.

According to the seismological senter, the earthquake was recorded at magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale, with a focal depth of 224 kilometres.
